Privacy policy
The short version: the calculator runs entirely in your browser and sends us nothing. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to give us — your email address, if you ask for deadline reminders — and we use it only for the purpose you gave it.
Who we are
Tribunally ("we") operates tribunally.uk, an information service about employment tribunal time limits and processes in England, Wales and Scotland. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact: [email protected]. [Once incorporated, replace with: Tribunally is operated by [Company Name] Ltd, company no. [number], registered office [address].]
What we collect, and why
Your email address and, where you request deadline reminders, the deadline date you asked us to remind you about. We collect these only when you submit the form on our site. We use them to: send the reminder emails you requested; and, if you opted in, tell you about new guides and tools we publish. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list.
Technical data. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) processes visitors' IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this to identify you.
What we deliberately don't do: no advertising trackers, no sale or sharing of your data for marketing, no profiling. If we add privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics in future (to count visits, not to identify visitors), we will update this policy to say so.
Cookies
We do not set cookies for tracking or advertising. Our web fonts are currently loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google's servers (transmitting your IP address to Google in the process); we plan to self-host fonts to remove even this.
Who your data is shared with
Only service providers who process it on our instructions to deliver the service: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our email delivery provider [provider name — e.g. Resend/Formspree — insert once wired], each under contractual data-protection terms. We do not otherwise share your personal data unless required by law.
Where your data is stored, and for how long
Email addresses and reminder dates are retained while you remain subscribed, and deleted when you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Reminder dates are deleted once the reminders have been sent. [Confirm storage regions with your email provider and update: e.g. "data is stored in the UK/EEA".]
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict our use of it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
A note on sensitive situations
People visit this site while dealing with dismissals, discrimination and other difficult circumstances. That is exactly why the calculator is built to run entirely in your browser: you can use every tool on this site without telling us anything about your situation at all. Nothing on this site asks you to describe your case, and we'd encourage you not to include details of your situation in any email to us — the free, confidential routes listed on our homepage (ACAS, your union, Citizens Advice, law centres) are the right places for that conversation.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a revised date below. Last updated: August 2026.
